Crowns & Bridges in NYC

Custom-crafted restorations that rebuild damaged or missing teeth with strength and seamless beauty. Each crown and bridge is shaded and shaped to blend perfectly with your natural smile.

Restorative

A well-made restoration should do its work invisibly. Beyond appearance, crowns and bridges are structural dentistry: a crown reinforces a tooth that can no longer support itself, while a bridge closes the space left by a missing tooth so neighboring teeth do not drift out of position and your bite stays balanced. At Parsons Smile Center, we approach every crown and bridge as both precise engineering and careful cosmetic work — because a restoration you can spot is a restoration that fell short.

Dr. Fady Salha, DMD, provides crowns & bridges at our Flushing, Queens and Midtown East, Manhattan offices, so patients across NYC can choose the location and appointment times that fit their lives.

What crowns & bridges involve at Parsons Smile Center

A crown is a custom-fabricated cap that fits over a carefully prepared tooth, restoring its shape, strength, and shade. Dr. Salha may recommend a crown when:

  • A tooth is cracked, fractured, or worn to the point that a filling can no longer support it
  • A large or aging filling has left too little healthy tooth structure behind
  • A tooth treated with root canal therapy needs long-term protection
  • A discolored or misshapen tooth would benefit from full coverage rather than a more conservative option

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a lifelike artificial tooth to crowns placed on the neighboring teeth. For some patients, an implant-supported restoration can be the stronger long-term choice — during your consultation, Dr. Salha will compare a traditional bridge with dental implants so you can decide with complete information.

Your visit-by-visit process

First visit — examination, preparation, and design. Dr. Salha examines the tooth and surrounding gum tissue, gently reshapes the tooth to receive its crown, and records detailed impressions. Together you select the shade so the finished restoration blends naturally with the rest of your smile.

Between visits. You wear a comfortable temporary crown or bridge while a dental laboratory crafts your final restoration to Dr. Salha’s exact specifications. Most patients eat and speak normally during this stage.

Second visit — fitting and placement. The temporary is removed and the permanent crown or bridge is tried in, adjusted for a precise bite, and bonded into place. Before you leave, we confirm the fit feels natural and the margins sit cleanly along the gumline.

Why patients choose Dr. Salha for crowns & bridges in NYC

Restorative dentistry rewards precision, and precision comes from training and repetition. Dr. Salha earned his DMD from Boston University and serves on the clinical faculty at the NYU College of Dentistry, where he helps train the next generation of dentists in the same techniques he uses chairside. That academic grounding shows up in the details — conservative tooth preparation, exacting impressions, and restorations checked against your bite rather than simply cemented and sent home.

With two offices — in Flushing, Queens and Midtown East, Manhattan — follow-up care is never far away. You can also browse real patient results in our smile gallery to see the standard we hold our restorative work to.

Candidacy and caring for your restoration

Most adults with a damaged or missing tooth are candidates for a crown or bridge, though healthy gums and adequate remaining tooth structure matter. If gum disease or decay is present, Dr. Salha may recommend treating it first so your restoration has a stable foundation. Once placed, your crown or bridge thrives on the same habits that protect natural teeth:

  • Brush twice daily and clean carefully along the gumline, including under a bridge with floss threaders or a water flosser
  • Avoid chewing ice, hard candy, and other habits that can chip porcelain
  • Wear a night guard if you clench or grind your teeth
  • Keep regular checkups so we can monitor the fit and the health of the supporting teeth

Frequently asked questions

How long do crowns and bridges last?

With good home care and regular dental visits, crowns and bridges can often last ten years or more. Longevity varies with the material, the location in your mouth, and habits like grinding — Dr. Salha will discuss what to expect for your specific restoration.

Does getting a crown hurt?

The tooth is thoroughly numbed before preparation, so the procedure itself is typically comfortable. Some patients notice mild sensitivity for a few days afterward, which usually settles on its own; we will let you know what is normal and when to call us.

Should I choose a bridge or a dental implant?

It depends on the health of the neighboring teeth, your bone structure, timeline, and budget. A bridge can be completed in a few weeks without surgery, while an implant preserves the adjacent teeth untouched. The best way to decide is a consultation at our Flushing or Midtown East office, where Dr. Salha can review both options with you.
