What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers, also called laminates, can dramatically change the size, shape, and color of any tooth with a healthy enough structure to support it. To place porcelain veneers, Dr. Salha removes some of the tooth’s enamel and places a thin layer of porcelain as needed to create the correct size, shape and color. What Are Porcelain Crowns?

Teeth that have fillings or decay can still be restored beautifully but may require crowns instead. A porcelain crown is similar to a porcelain veneer, or laminate, but more of the patient’s own tooth structure is removed to accommodate a crown, and an entire tooth-shaped restoration is placed over the natural tooth’s remaining portion.
