What is PRF?
Platelet rich fibrin is a blood byproduct that we can make quickly in the office using a small amount of the patient’s own blood. It is rich in platelets, which perform essential functions in the body and can dramatically accelerate the healing process after any procedure. Platelets both encourage blood-clot formation and release growth factors that promote recovery.
How Does PRF Work?
We place a small sample of blood into a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich portion, concentrate it, and place it onto the affected area. Growth-factor stem cells in the PRF concentration instantly commence the healing process.
